Position Overview

Planworx Architecture is seeking a Project Architect to join our Raleigh team. This role is ideal for an experienced architectural professional who can lead project documentation, coordinate with consultants and internal team members, support design development, and help guide projects from concept through construction administration. The Project Architect will play a key role in delivering thoughtful, buildable design solutions while contributing to a collaborative studio environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • • Lead and support projects through schematic design, design development, construction documentation, permitting, bidding, and construction administration.
  • • Prepare, coordinate, and maintain drawings, details, schedules, specifications, and project models with a high level of accuracy and technical quality.
  • • Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, jurisdictions, and internal team members to advance project goals, schedules, and deliverables.
  • • Review and respond to project markups, RFIs, submittals, field reports, and construction-related questions under the direction of firm leadership.
  • • Research and apply building codes, zoning requirements, accessibility standards, materials, systems, and construction methods.
  • • Participate/lead client meetings, consultant coordination meetings, design reviews, site observations, and construction administration activities.
  • • Mentor and support junior staff by sharing technical knowledge, reviewing work, and helping maintain office documentation standards.
  • • Contribute to a positive studio culture through professionalism, collaboration, accountability, and clear communication.

Qualifications

  • • Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in an architectural office. environment, with demonstrated experience supporting or leading project delivery. Ten years’ experience preferred.
  • • Professional architecture license is highly preferred; candidates actively pursuing licensure will also be considered.
  • • Strong working knowledge of Revit and/or AutoCAD is required. Experience with Bluebeam Revu, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office is preferred.
  • • Proven ability to prepare and coordinate construction documents, details, consultant information, and project deliverables.
  • • Working knowledge of building codes, accessibility requirements, construction systems, and permitting processes.
  • • Strong graphic, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and team members.
  • • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, solve problems, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced project environment.
  • • Experience with multifamily, mixed-use, commercial, planning, renovation, and community-focused design work is preferred; multifamily experience is strongly preferred.
  • • Professional attitude, strong work ethic, leadership potential, and enthusiasm for collaborative studio practice.

Position Overview

Planworx Architecture is seeking an Architectural Intern to join our Raleigh team. This role is ideal for a motivated recent graduate who is eager to gain hands-on experience in a collaborative professional environment. As an Architectural Intern, you will support project teams through design exploration, production drawings, modeling, documentation, research, and coordination while learning from experienced architects and designers.

Key Responsibilities

  • • Assist project teams with schematic design, design     development, construction documentation, and presentation   materials.
  • • Prepare, maintain, and update drawings, details, schedules, and models under the direction of project architects and senior staff.
  • • Support 3D modeling, visualization, rendering, and graphic production for internal reviews, client presentations, and design studies.
  • • Coordinate with internal team members to help advance project deliverables accurately and efficiently.
  • • Research building materials, code requirements, zoning considerations, product information, and precedent imagery as assigned.
  • • Participate in project meetings, design reviews, site observations, and team coordination discussions as opportunities arise.
  • • Apply markups and revisions to drawings while developing technical knowledge of construction systems, documentation standards, and project workflows.
  • • Contribute to a positive studio culture through curiosity, professionalism, collaboration, and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications

  • • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in an architectural office environment. Five years’ experience preferred.
  • • Strong in-office working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD is required. Experience with Bluebeam Revu, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office experience is a plus.
  • • Proven graphic, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • • Interest in multifamily, mixed-use, commercial, planning, renovation, and community-focused design work. Multifamily experience is preferred.
  • • Detail-oriented mindset with a desire to grow technical, design, and professional skills.
  • • Professional attitude, strong work ethic, and enthusiasm for collaborative studio practice.
  • • Actively working towards licensure.
